Batteries
Batteries are used to store the power once it has been generated. They are therefore integrated into all off-grid applications and all applications that require a guaranteed power supply. For example, in cases where the solar photovoltaic generator is unable to generate power as it has been disconnected from the grid, or because of bad weather or use at night time.
The Tenesol range of batteries ranges from 50 Ah to 3000 Ah. When it comes to stationary applications, lead batteries are generally regarded as the reference standard. Depending on the environment, Tenesol can offer open lead batteries or sealed lead batteries (absorbed or frozen electrolytes).
Tenesol works alongside SAFT, ADEME, and the region of Guadeloupe in managing the development plan for a new type of battery for grid connection: the lithium-ion battery. This storage solution for grid applications, both innovative and extremely viable, will ensure the optimum management of the electricity generated by a photovoltaic system (owner consumption/injection back into grid), both for owners of the system and for the operator of the distribution grid: preventing fluctuations, reducing peak demand, etc. Li-ion batteries will be a genuine long-term asset in driving ahead photovoltaic electricity as a leading energy source in the energy mix.
As an eco-responsible company, Tenesol is a committed member of the PV Cycle association for the recycling of photovoltaic systems and their components.
