Founded in 1983, TENESOL is now among the world leaders system architects in photovoltaic systems.
Our past may at first sight appear rather ordinary. It is that of a small company based on humanitarian necessity, which has, as the years have passed, benefited from the vigour of its market and has grown to become an essential player in solar industry, a true leader on the international scene.
But it is first and foremost the history of a twin pledge that we would like to present. On the one hand, to allow the populations of countries that need it most to become autonomous in their water and energy needs. On the other hand, to make clean energy access, use and distribution easier in industrialized countries.
TENESOL was therefore born in Africa in order to respond to the solar pumping needs of the countries in the Sahel desert zone. In this desert region, only solar technology can procure the necessary energy to extract water, this rare liquid, life-giving source and essential element for the local population survival. Pushed by their involvement, the players in this adventure created what was to become overtime an international organization, located in more than 50 countries.
Diversification pushed by development needs and technological advances has brought the company from the simple solar pumping to electrification of isolated sites, to applications directed to professionals, solar thermics to end up with what is now at the core of our main activity: grid connection.
With this vision, TENESOL offers to individuals, companies and local authorities ways to replace progressively non renewable and pollutant energies by the consumption of a permanently renewable and intrinsically environment friendly source: solar energy.
With the development of this new market in mind, TENESOL inaugurated in 1999 one of its new site in La Tour de Salvagny, a village situated within the heart of Lyon’s countryside area. The architecture of this new building perfectly reflects the notion of sustainable development, which we consider as a genuine company mission.
Alongside this new unit, a module production unit has been created in Cape Town, South Africa. Employing about 200 people, this subsidiary produces 35 MWc each year, covering for a while the whole of the companies needs in its different markets. Nevertheless the constant evolution in the grid connection market has pushed TENESOL to plan for the construction of a new production centre.
Operational since April 2005, TENESOL TECHNOLOGIES has pushed the production of modules of our group to 50 Mac per year. Situated close to Toulouse, is very much alike our head office both in architectural terms and in the integration of solar panels on the roof and at the front of the building.
Well known in the whole world for more than 20 years as a system architect, our company is amongst the world leaders in solar energy and photovoltaic systems, ever more innovative when associated with its complete range of services.
Whether you are an individual, a research department, an architect, a local authority, a professional or an association, do not hesitate:
Join the solar energy adventure!
“Our own quest, for those of the brotherhood of solar electricians, is access to the best return for the lowest price! The power to transform all the energy of our good old sun in as much electricity and thus allowing two billions people on earth, who don’t have access to electricity to be able to use light, refrigerators, radios, televisions. And more, to allow the population of industrialized countries, to benefit from roofs that produce electricity. To see one day, blue roofs in all our towns: to make our buildings work so that they themselves produce the energy we need!”
